Success Multiplied by Four.

Teaching experience, skill, patience, kindness and a strong desire to help children learn to read, all describe Kathy Grant and what we have experienced with her since she started tutoring our four boys. Each of our children were at various reading levels and struggled with different aspects of reading, and in just over a school year Kathy has given them both the ability and confidence needed to be successful readers. Kathy’s teaching methods and perseverance have proven successful with the various needs of each child. It has been fantastic to see their interest in and enthusiasm for reading soar! We are so thankful for her and her dedication. We highly recommend Kathy!

From Struggles to Joy and Smiles

Kathy is an excellent tutor with lots of experience. She has been working with our son for over a year now and I cannot tell you how excited we are to hear are son reading. When we started with Kathy our son had a hard time reading the simplest of words. He would fight us tooth and nail when it came to reading, now we sit back with smiles on our faces as he reads to his little brother. With Kathy’s experience she was able to keep our son motivated, engaged and comfortable. We have been blessed to have Kathy in our lives; with her patience she has been able to get our son up to reading at his grade level.

Looked Forward To Their Tutoring Sessions

My boys worked with Kathy for a year and a half. She is prompt, knowledgeable, fun, and caring. Both my boys loved her and looked forward to their tutoring sessions. Because Kathy would give them prizes for completing a lesson, my boys were both motivated to work harder to move up fast. I highly recommend Kathy if you are looking for a great Barton tutor to advance your child’s reading abilities.

Indescribable Feeling

“As a parent it can feel challenging and overwhelming to realize that your child is struggling to read and process words and sounds.  After struggling to teach my son Aaron to read for over a year I asked Kathy to evaluate him. Kathy began working with him right away and it was such a relief to me to know that she was ready and trained to help Aaron.  Aaron was six years old when he started working with Kathy twice weekly and he is eight years old now.  At age six he could not recognize letters or even begin to reproduce their sounds.  This October Aaron took the California State Star 360 test and tested above his grade level in reading.  He can now go to the library and check out books and read them aloud or on his own.  Sometimes I am not sure who is more excited by this – Aaron or me!  It is an indescribable feeling to see the confidence and the joy that he feels by being able to read.  It has opened up the world to him.  Kathy has been incredibly committed to our classes each week.  She is always on time, prepared and ready to teach.  She is highly trained and qualified to help teach reading, phonics, language rules and spelling.  Even more importantly she cares about her students and connects with them in a way that they know she thinks they are special.  I can’t thank Kathy enough for her help with Aaron!”
